Analysis: The process of producing the finished intelligence product such as a report or table of data. The analysis of intelligence information involves looking at all aspects of all data available and making a judgement based solely on the facts and tempered with past experience or history.

In many cases analysis will include information acquired through both open sources as well as clandestine sources. Comparison of disparate sources is very desirable, for example, while technical collection is impressive it is usually backed up with a data collected via HUMINT. Too much reliance on any one kind of data may lead the analyst into vastly erroneous judgements.
