Description

Extremely long lived white-supremicist group born before the Civil War.
Violently opposed to black freedom and after the civil war began terror campaigns throughout the south and were stil active a decade after the assasination of the Reverend Martin Luther King.

Activities

The leaders of the group were convicted of murder and conspiracy to murder a white man supporting black protestors, the murders taking place broad daylight.  This capped a long history of cross burnings, church burnings, floggings, knifings, and murders with guns and bombs stretching over a hundred years.  The ignited gasoline painted cross on a lawn or a burning wooden cross was used to intimidate blacks or black supporters and became the KKK's signature..
