Description
Extremely long lived white-supremicist group born before the Civil War.
Violently opposed to black freedom and after the civil war began terror
campaigns throughout the south and were stil active a decade after the
assasination of the Reverend Martin Luther King.
Activities
The leaders of the group were convicted of murder and conspiracy to murder
a white man supporting black protestors, the murders taking place broad
daylight. This capped a long history of cross burnings, church burnings,
floggings, knifings, and murders with guns and bombs stretching over a
hundred years. The ignited gasoline painted cross on a lawn or a
burning wooden cross was used to intimidate blacks or black supporters
and became the KKK's signature..
