IMPORTANT INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING FROM AFI RESEARCH & INTELLECOM. INC

A controversial and hard hitting commentary from Alan Simpson

Arafat or bust!

The young vocal Jewish lobby in America is calling for the end to hostilities in the Middle East, by repossessing all the "Jewish" land given to the ungrateful Yasser Arafat, and his terrorist followers.  They vehemently argue that he is a terrible leader, pitiful politician, and incapable of getting his unwashed masses to follow his orders. These children of plenty, brought up on MTV, and yuppie culture, play right into the hands of the religious zealots, who dominate political thinking in Israel. Anyone questioning their philosophy is by their definition "Anti Semitic". They have short attention spans, and poor memories.

Yes Yasser Arafat is a terrible political leader. So for that matter is the Butcher Sharon. But these vocal preppies forget that Arafat was once the effective leader of the PLO, a very nasty terrorist organization. He is surrounded by many who miss those "Good Old Days", blowing up American, and Israeli airliners, and killing innocent American tourists, anywhere in the world.  Currently two factions of the Semite tribes are slugging it out with each other. Two groups of wanderers, claiming the same piece of land, for their permanent settlement. It is for them to stop squabbling, and start talking.  No half assed special envoy can make a bit of difference, unless the Israelis, and Palestinians have the will to succeed themselves. Many  more will die before they see sense.

The most difficult alternative to the whirligig of attacks, and reprisals is to sit down and fix the problems. The most simplistic is to use the disproportionate strength of the US-supplied Israeli military machine, to crush the Palestinians, and send them back to whence they came.  However, they came from the most feared terrorist organization in the world.  Yasser Arafat would be many times more dangerous as the leader of a new PLO, than the bungling fool he has become, as the leader of the Palestinian Authority. He is tailor made to become a Martyr, a rallying call to fight the Mighty Satan. Anyone watching bin Laden has to really stretch their imagination to become excited, and go off and join the fight. He does not inspire, but merely relies on the draw of the cause. Yasser Arafat however, has a long history of successfully calling the faithful to action.

Every day the US Cable News Channels wheel out retired political appointees, whose sole expertise before they were appointed to State Department, or Department of Defense, was fund raising, to pontificate on how fragmented, and ineffective the Arab world would be in a conflict with the US. They live in splendour within the Washington Beltway, fat, secure and happy. The US businessmen, and women, on the other hand, who have to travel the corners of the globe, and the US tourists who explore those same corners, may reflect on the dark days when they were the prime target for Yasser Arafat, and the
PLO.

They will bear the brunt of reprisals, for actions precipitated by the vocal Jewish pressure groups, and lobbying organizations, in the USA. Yes, Yasser Arafat is a poor leader of the Palestinian Authority, but should US tourists risk dying on a Cruise ship, or on their  vacation flight, to prove the point? Should US businessmen risk becoming a target for every disgruntled
sniper, who has lost his promised land?  The huge might of the US military can bomb any country into rubble, can lock down any US Airport in minutes, but is totally useless on a Cruise Ship in the Mediterranean, an Airport in Africa, or in a café in Rome.

So leave these bickering young siblings to fight it out in the sandbox and concentrate the might of the US in protecting its Oil supply in the Gulf. For without that resource the US businessman, and tourist will not even be able to travel into harms way, if and when the PLO re-emerge.
