MILNET: Disclaimer - AFI Research

MILNET and AFI share a publishing association on the Internet which is a voluntary partnership. This relationship does not include monetary exchange nor does either organization act as agent for the other.

MILNET respects AFI Research as an independent online publisher and provides archival service of AFI articles as a service to the MILNET visitor and as an aid to U.S. dissemination of AFI's excellent investigative journalism and analysis.

AFI Material archived on MILNET in no way expresses the opinion or editorial position of MILNET. Data released on the Internet is worldwide in nature and is by definition instantly public. MILNET takes no responsibility for information contained in AFI Research articles

U.S. agencies who wish to contest or respond to AFI Research material should contact Richard Bennett at afi@supanet.com.

Information which is believed to violate U.S. law will be removed from the MILNET server only upon notification by the U.S. agency which can demonstrate such violation by writing email to milnet@milnet.com, followed by service of official documents in due course.

Of course legal requests such as service of court order will be observed immediately with MILNET reserving the right to contest the removal under due process with the goal to replace the data if legally permissable.

Specific areas of concern such as project, system, intelligence or military operations details which may endanger U.S. forces will be removed immediately, no questions asked, but we reserve the right to repost such data if timeliness is no longer an issue.

Information that may endanger intelligence or military operatives or intelligence gathering methods and which has already been released to the public by AFI's email transmission and subsequently archived on MILNET is deemed already "spoiled goods" and therefore is not considered germain to secrecy issues. This is due to the fact that MILNET's processing of such data is at best some many hours beyond the delivery of AFI email worldwide.

Since MILNET is not the "first" publisher of the data, we are not legally constrained from re-publishing the data. However, as stated, we will volunteer to remove any such information upon proper request in order to err on the side of safety and protection of U.S. military and intelligence agencies.

AFI Research writers, analysts and research personnel, being based outside the U.S., do not fall under U.S. Law and and AFI Research is not a legal component of MILNET. Therefore MILNET has no control and can take no responsibility for AFI Research content.
