Obviously the world of nuclear weapons research and design is one tight with appropriate security and nervous security people. And well it should be. However, early work in nuclear weapons, such as the first atomic weapons is subject of increasing interest around the 50th anniversay of the first use of the weapon.
This section uses some rather ugly character set drawings originally from a New Zealand Anti-Nuke web page, and were used to describe the structure of these weapons. Since the page doesn't seem to exist any longer, we have reproduced them here since they are well written and are extremely informative. If the orginal author should recognize the work, we would be happy to attribute accordingly.
Note that the drawings are crude enough to easily pass any kind of security restriction, and certainly do not pose an risk of proliferation.
