MILNET: Intelligence Planning
The planning portion of Intelligence is possible the most important. Planning includes how to manage intelligence data gathered, as well as operations planning. For instance, the U.S. CIA has a covert operations group, which has a director for planning. This planning directorate ensures logistics, personnel, and supply are all ready to aid the covert action group in their task. This planning directorate, through its director and any of the chain of command below it, works closely with the other directorates in covert actions to ensure coordination and successful operations. Planning may also lay out strategies for a complex operation which might include psychological operations, air drops of supplies, and placement of agents in the field.
